Power transformer is a kind of electrical device that is used to change AC voltage from one electric circuit to another by using a unique electromagnetic induction. Transformers are designed with different mechanisms in order to lower down the incoming voltage as well as to increase the voltage of electric equipment.

For example:  isolation transformers, power transformers, resin cast transformers, high and low voltage transformers, electrical transformers and others. The usage of the transformers solely depends on the capacity of transferring voltage which bases on the appliance it is attached with.

Power transformers are designed by many different companies nowadays. You can find companies manufacturing and distributing transformers that are widely used in managing and generating power supply. These modern transformers generally come with switchgears, core transforming device, chargers, and other relevant electrical equipments. The cost and capacity of the transformers vary from one manufacturing companies to other. Since the cost of transformers has decreased nowadays, the competition amongst the transformer manufacturing companies is always high.

There are more than one factor that determines the power and life of the transformer.  The most important factor that determines the power of a transmitter is its insulation quality. Today, many different changes in the current transformer design have been incorporated in order to reduce the transformer shortfalls. The core material used in the transformer is another important factor in determining overall costs of it.
